My Project

My theme park land was inspired by my story The Assimilation. On Assimilation Island, visitors will travel through a land that slowly gets taken over by technology. At the entrance, it will be more familiar with cheerful music playing, birds chirping, beautiful trees growing. Then as the guest travels further the natural elements will slowly be stripped away and replaced with futuristic architecture and electronic music to match the aesthetics. On the main attraction, The Assimilator, guests will be given an unforgettable experience where they are taken on a thrill ride that simulates the nightmare of the main character, Max. The ride will start out slow with a small amount of light from the line queue shining. As the ride slowly takes off, the light starts to fade away along with the peaceful music and the ride approaches a steep incline. The ride slowly chugs up the incline and when it reaches the peak, it darts down the drop and the ride accelerates through many twists and turns that simulate the nightmares of Max. My main character Max is a shy kid who tends to stay in his own lane and is hesitant to be assertive in many situations. He wears baggy clothes and has slumped shoulders. In the story, Max's AI companion named Lula, implants a chip inside Max's body while he is sleeping. This leads to Max having a terrible nightmare where electricity is coursing through his body, attempting to take over his mind. The ride embodies the story because the guests will be going through the same emotions that Max was going through. They will feel fine and safe at the beginning, but as the ride continues and accelerates through the twists and turns, the guests will have an adrenaline pumping experience.

• Ride sequence: Coaster slowly moves along track, as it approaches a steep incline, the darkness consumes the whole area and it starts to resemble the void in my story. As the coaster shoots down the peak, riders experience a few twists and turns that simulate the computer chip coursing through Max's body.
