Beating The Crowds

We're fighting overcrowded public transportation with OneStop- a bus tracking app that gives users live crowd data. See bus capacities, peak traffic hours, bus ETA's and more all smoothly integrated into the functionality you'd expect in a traditional bus tracker.

Our Project

Our objective was to reduce the crowd levels faced by the Bloomington Transit System. Our research showed that crowding has a host of negative effects, ranging from decreased efficiency to high anxiety levels in passengers. A number of studies identified Real-Time Crowd Info (RTCI) as an effective solution in reducing passenger wait times and spreading out peak traffic, resulting in up to a 40% increase in efficiency. With this in mind, we developed the concept for OneStop- an app that would accomplish all the regular duties of a bus tracker but with live population data readily accessible and integrated. We ran our prototypes through multiple critique sessions, workshops, and a range of usability tests with potential target users, collecting valuable feedback and making improvements as we went. The final product was a sleeker, more beginner-friendly, and intuitive experience that we welcome you to try below.
