Our Project
The aim of our project was to advertise IU CAPS(counseling and psychiatric services) to students. This is a free resource created by IU for students to seek counseling help. When studying the problems with IU CAPS, we found that many students didn't even know what CAPS was. This was the reason we designed our canvas course. Our canvas course is easily accessible for every IU student, as they log onto canvas daily. The canvas course we created is always on an IU student's homepage and is optional. The information inside the canvas course teaches the student about what IU CAPS is and the resources it offers. In our evaluations, we used our high-fidelity prototype to test if our canvas course was easily accessible. These studies consisted of a random user going through our prototype and making sure that all the information was made clear for them. Overall, our evaluations allowed to learn that our prototype was unclear with the directions. Our users didn't understand the directions going through the canvas course, which is why we changed our prototype to better explain what is in each section.
