My AI Author

In 2021, Aum golly¹ became the first known poetry collection authored by AI. It was curated by Jukka Aalho to explore the depths of human emotion. Two years later, Aum golly² followed, pushing the boundaries further with AI-generated illustrations. Created using ChatGPT and Midjourney, these works challenge the notion of authorship, blending human creativity with artificial intelligence. Through carefully crafted prompts, such as “deep thoughts about the true nature of love”, Aalho shaped the AI’s voice, creating a poetic exchange between human and machine.

My Project

These AI-generated poetry collections redefine authorship and creativity, sparking ethical debates about AI’s role in art. From a value ethics perspective, which prioritizes virtues like honesty and authenticity, they present a dilemma: do they enhance creative expression or dilute its human essence? By merging human guidance with machine-generated content, these works challenge us to reconsider the values that shape artistic integrity and the meaning of true creative authorship.
