Soviet Faith War

Around the 1930’s, the Soviet Union was drafting new legislation that would get rid of religious activities and education to try to persuade people away from religion. Most of the people apart of the Russian Orthodox Church were either shot or sent to labour camps lowering the number down to 1.7% of the original group. The posters were created to influence people to stay away from Religion.

My Project

These posters were created to persuade Russian citizens to avoid from religion. Showing and explaining what bad consequences would happen if they relied on religion. With the posters describing what’s wrong with religion or how religion is nothing but a burden. Under utilitarianism, the Soviet’s thought that without religion, they would be a unified society without any distractions that religion would create. They believed this would benefit everyone.
