Our Project
We are SideQuest IU and have developed a platform to help Indiana University students discover clubs, organizations, and events correlated with their interests. Indiana University has hundreds of student organizations and clubs that give students opportunities to build communities, develop skills, and participate in campus life.
The platform includes Google login integration, Google Maps integration for event locations, a discover page for finding clubs, member profiles with connection features, an events page to manage your schedule, and a real-time calendar. Built with PHP, MySQL, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, SideQuest IU is fully deployed on IU's CGI servers and designed specifically for the Indiana University student community.
Big Points
- Students can search for clubs and organizations, filter by tags, and interact directly with club members, making it significantly easier to find a community that best suits their interests.
- Users can interact with each other through the platform's integrated messaging system.
- Club faculty members can manage their clubs through our system, sending announcements and organizing events all in one place.
- Students can RSVP to upcoming campus events and track their schedule through a personalized calendar.
- Member profiles allow students to showcase their interests, clubs, and connect with other students who share similar goals.
- Club board members can review and approve join requests for private organizations.
- Google Maps integration allows students to get directions to event locations directly from the platform.
- Students can sign in securely using their existing IU Google account.

Our Project Demo
This final demo shows off our finished product, a fully functional informational system for IU students. In the demo, we showcase how students can easily search for clubs and organizations using intuitive filters and tag-based categories. This allows users to quickly narrow down options based on their personal interests, goals, and hobbies, making the discovery process far more efficient and personalized than traditional methods. Beyond discovery, the platform emphasizes connection. Students can interact directly with club members through an integrated messaging system, fostering communication and making it easier to ask questions, get involved, and build relationships before even attending an event.
