Our Project
We designed and developed a health-monitoring watch and app to go along with that is aimed at providing a look into student athletes’ physical and mental states. This app tracks athletes' data and enables them to share their health data with trusted professionals like their coaches, trainers, and therapists.
To develop the project, we conducted research on the needs of student-athletes, gathering insights on both their physical and mental health. Our goal was to find out something that could improve their lives or make their day-to-day life easier. We built a prototype watch that tracks data like heart rate, stress levels, and blood pressure. This data syncs with an app, where we made a screen asking who you would like to share this data with. We tested this prototype several times through usability sessions, where we would ask participants to “think out loud” as they navigated through our app. This helped us know where they were getting lost or confused. We requested feedback each time allowing us to improve and change our prototype, eventually leading us to finish our final prototype.
