Urban Mobility

We are the Urban Mobility Team (Group 6) and we created a prototype for one cohesive bus app for IU students. This app will provide students with an easy to use and personalized application that allows students to access reliable transportation.

Our Project

The project is an application that makes riding the bus simpler and more tailored to the user. Based on our primary research and user testing, we found out the best ways to improve the existing IU bus apps and created one app that focuses on what students actually need and how they would like their app to work.

From our initial observations we discussed the reliability issues we faces using the busses around Bloomington including feeling uninformed about route changes. After interviewing and talking with other bus users, we quickly realized the need for one app that could provide students with easily viewable alerts and an improved interface - hence the name One Bus.

We were inspired by the personalized experience of the Uber app and implemented a similar start page. We also thought a Chatbot and help page would prevent users from having trouble with the interface. Additionally, we prototyped widgets so that users can see their customized alerts easily on the phone home screen.
