Our Project
As college students, we understand the struggle regarding motivation and attendance. After using many motivational and wellness apps that didn't seem to do the trick, we wanted to create something that works. Through our research and interviews, we designed a concept for our app, CheckPoint. The Checkpoint app is a dynamic and interactive tool designed to promote student success, wellness, and engagement by tracking walking activity and attendance, awarding points based on attendance completion and distance traveled. These points can be redeemed for rewards across four categories: Coupons, Tickets, Merchandise, and Other.
To further enhance engagement, we’ve introduced a feature specifically for professors and event coordinators. This allows students to scan a unique QR code provided by the administrator to earn bonus points for participating in events or activities, making Checkpoint a valuable tool for both academic and extracurricular involvement. This feature aims to further incentivize attendance for students and create a useful tool for instructors and event coordinators.
For students who enjoy a competitive challenge, the app includes a campus-wide leaderboard where users can see how they rank against others across Indiana University. In addition, students can connect with friends, view each other’s point totals, and even send points to help one another reach their reward goals. Whether you're aiming to stay active, earn great prizes, or build community on campus, Checkpoint offers a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.
