Campus Calendar

For a new and improved campus calendar, we created a prototype with the goal in mind of connecting students to events on campus that they otherwise would miss due to lack of visibility. We wanted to make an application that people would want to use in their daily lives, rather than a throw away app that wouldn't see any use. Customizable filters, integration, and showing which events were available were key components in our development of this application.

Our Project

The Campus Calendar is designed for current event atendees, and for people who are wanting to break out of their comfort zone and find events where they can have a sense of belonging on campus. With filtering, personal canvas integration, and built in club chat, we feel like this includes everything someone would need to feel more connected on campus.

We created multiple prototypes with figma and went through various testing points and designs. Through interviewing people we were able to lock down some key features on what people want in an application like this that isn't already being done. We were able to get some feedback on design choices as well to make everything look and feel more clean.

We tried to be as minimalist as possible for there to be less confusion while navigating the app, and using already established buttons that people are already familiar with. We want to support students and make them feel more welcome on campus, and we hope a prototype like this can achieve this goal.
