Sustainable Dorms

We look to incentivize students by giving them rewards for doing sustainable practices when doing laundry.

Our Project

Our project makes doing laundry not feel like just another mundane task. It's an interactive extension on the IU mobile app that not only makes it easy to do laundry, but get rewarded for it too. Students can get money and other rewards just by using more environmentally friendly options on wash settings, such as using cold water or selecting 1 rinse cycle.

Big Points

  • This add-on to the IU mobile app will become the most used part of the whole app. Not only will people need to use it, but they will want to do it. They will share this app with their friends from other colleges, and soon, every college will be using this idea.
