Our Project
The NeverAlone App is designed for the students and faculty of the IU Bloomington campus, as a way to provide the most accurate and current safety information around campus. With a community message board, a live safety alert map, and a bus and car ride service, this app provides students with an abundance of campus safety resources. The goal of this design is to create a safer and more secure campus and alert students of the resources they have available to them.
After we conducted research and interviews with a range of individuals around campus, we understood that IU lacks a centralized source of safety resources. Many of the safety services IU has to offer are scattered throughout several websites and can be confusing to find. With the NeverAlone app, they are all in one easily accessible place for students to use. The app also provides new resources like the community message board, which allows students to directly report what incidents they are seeing around campus to alert their classmates in real time.
Big Points
- Benefit students and staff on the IU campus and around Bloomington
- Available on smartphones through the App Store or Google Play Store
