Education: Infinite Insights

Our Project

The UN goal that we focused on for this project was ensuring fair quality education for all students. With this goal in mind, we designed an app that provides academic resources, and mental health resources that support students to be on track.

We began by analyzing discussions on social media forums like Reddit, followed by a co-design study with recruited participants. Next, we conducted a card sorting study with our target group and concluded with a crowdsourcing study. The analysis from Reddit and the co-design study provided insights into the varying needs and concerns of students, prompting adjustments to our low-fidelity prototype based on their feedback. The card sorting and crowdsourcing studies highlighted the advantages of focusing exclusively on students, leading us to reduce the estimated completion time of our study from 10 to 7 minutes, and to narrow our target age group from 18-50 to 18-30.

Initially, our prototype targeted both students and parents. However, after deciding to focus solely on students, we revamped our high-fidelity prototype to be more student-centered. This involved redesigning the user interface, integrating resources suggested by our participants, and removing parent-specific features.

• Homework Helper - Provides a list of subjects available that students have available to receive academic help.
  
• AI Helper - Provides students with either an explanation or solution for a question or task.
  
• Student Help - Lists various services that students can access if they are facing difficult situations.
  
• Student Report - Demonstrates the student's current grades and encourages them to use the Homework Helper if they are struggling with a course.
  
• Chat Bot - Allows students to provide feedback and gives them a space to ask any questions.
